“ Lovely plant based Japanese food. The kaarage aubergine we had was delicious. Loved the kimchi rice too. And the sushi pieces were delicious. Wish they had more fun desserts though, we had the brownie which was ok but a bit boring compared to the rest of the money (every restaurant in England serves brownie as dessert). Staff was super nice and it wasn’t too busy when we went which was nice. ”
“ This was a delightful experience. I enjoyed all the food except the desserts they just weren’t my personal taste but were presented lovely like the rest of the food we had. The Kara-age mushrooms were my fave Brilliant show off spot and everything is vegan ”
“ Really liked this place. Came here on a Wednesday evening with booking a table beforehand. I would suggest you'd do the same as it was full for a Wednesday (always a good sign). We ordered drinks, two small plates and two large plates and it came out of the kitchen really quickly (we were eating main meal in the next 20-25 minutes). After that we decided to have a dessert and with that it took one whole hour to order, get the desserts, finish and pay. So the service was a bit slow in the end but nothing to complain about as they were really nice and friendly. I loved the food, fairly priced and loved the fresh ingredients. One thing that bothered me was the lamb's lettuce on everything. Could be at least flavored, or maybe not there at all? I loved the atmosphere of the place, pretty decor, nice music...somebody really thought this through. Overall a great experience and would definitely visit again. ”
“ We came for a friend's birthday and had the most incredible time. The food is so beautifully presented and we loved the attention to detail, as well as the care from the staff, who let us try the orange wine, helped with our menu choices and put a birthday candle in our friend's pudding! Our highlights included the oyster mushroom karaage (even loved by our friend who normally doesn't eat mushrooms!), the fried nigiri, and the drunken rice which was so good I wanted to get some to take away. We also loved the ambiance, the comfortable chairs and the size of the table. It was such a lovely experience! ”
“ Kusaki is such a lovely place. The food is always original, beautifully presented and so tasty. We tried a black sesame ice cream that day that was out of this world. Atmosphere is relaxing and soothing and the service is one of the best in town. Special thanks to Alex, who waited on us that day as they were absolutely wonderful! ”
“ The whole experience was beyond our expectations. The service was spot on, with friendly staff that made our dinner enjoyable. Every single dish we tried was delicious, so much so we could not label a 'favourite'. We absolutely recommend all vegans and not to try this restaurant! ”
“ Wonderful vegan sushi restaurant in Brighton that we found off the Michelin guide. It was very quiet on a weeknight but such a wonderful atmosphere and beautiful restaurant and felt quite relaxing. The food was delightful, we went for the sushi platter so that we could try a bit of everything. I would definitely recommend also getting the tofu sharing dish which the name is escaping me. I usually don't care for vegan sushi because a lot of times I find that the rolls taste very similar because their all veggie based, but Kusaki rolls had such flavor and really different taste profiles. The cocktail list was short but the drinks we got were all delicious. The service was a bit slow at times, having to ask for additional drinks and for the bill. Hard to catch an eye sometimes, but we were in no rush so no problem for us there. Definitely go visit whether you're veggie or not - will not disappoint! ”
“ Visited Kusaki with a couple of friends and ordered the sharing sushi platter, a couple of small plates and a few cocktails. I was not ready for what was about to happen. Each sushi was a flavour bomb, especially the aubergine one, and exceeded all expectations. The mayo served with the deep fried mushrooms, the broth of the udon noodles, the crispy bottoms of the dimsums, the bitterness of the burnt garlic of the kimchi fried rice, the creaminess of the Shima cocktail- everything went above and beyond. Every dish had an extra element which added something unique to the dish and really elevated it and distinguished it from the rest. Also this place is vegan! Would highly, highly recommend! ”
